LaTeX

LaTeX information (by Junping Shi) June 2015 (updated June 2018)

LaTeX is a programming language to type texts with math content. You need to use some text editor to edit your .tex file, then use a latex compiler to compile your LaTeX file into a pdf file.

1. Getting the software.

For Windows, you may
(a) download the MikTeX program from http://miktex.org/download;
(b) then download the TeXmaker program from http://www.xm1math.net/texmaker/download.html.
For Mac users, you may download MacTeX from http://tug.org/mactex/.
LaTeX editors for all platform (Windows, Mac, Linux): TeXmaker, TeXstudio, TeXworks
You may also use the online editor Overleaf , SharetLaTeX, LaTeX Base or Papeeria.

Alternatively you can download a Windows TeX package CTeX.
